McLeod Software is currently looking for an Accounting Support Specialist for our Headquarters in Birmingham, AL. The Accounting Support Specialist will provide training to customers and assist customers with questions & issues pertaining to the use of LoadMaster/PowerBroker accounting modules and interfaces to 3rd party accounting products (such as Peoplesoft and Dynamics GP).


  • Train customers by phone or email on the use of LoadMaster/PowerBroker accounting modules.
  • Provide support to customers by phone or email pertaining to the use of LoadMaster/PowerBroker accounting modules.
  • Provide support and training for 3rd party accounting interfaces (such as the Dynamics GP interface).
  • Research and troubleshoot accounting support issues either by reviewing documentation, discussing with other staff or contacting 3rd party sources.
  • Conduct formal accounting calls with customers, which may include initial accounting calls, accounting training calls, accounting go-live reviews / calls and accounting checkups. These consist of everything from basic setup to consulting calls regarding best practices for accounting for large and sometimes publicly traded customers. These may be remote or at the customer site.
  • Provide customers with timely follow up and recap reports from accounting calls.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a library of accounting documentation.
  • Provide suggestions on new accounting features and improvements to accounting modules.
  • Assist Trainers, Account Managers and Support Programmers as needed with accounting-related questions.
  • Provide internal accounting training to McLeod employees as needed.
  • Attend McLeod’s annual Users’ Conference (could require travel).
  • Assist customers and conduct training classes or roundtables at the McLeod’s Users’ Conference as needed.
  • Interact with the product group to provide base product improvement ideas from interactions with customers.
  • While this position requires only limited travel to customer sites and/or user conferences, the ability to travel more would be a plus.
  • Interact with the Financial Support Service group in our mid-market department o share best practices and keep up with similar issues that affect all customers.
  • Communicate general accounting issues and instructions internally and externally as needed.
  • Participate in sales presentations to provide accounting advice and demonstrations of the software as needed.
  • Coordinate scheduling, training and resource utilization with the team lead of the Ancillary Group.


  • Bachelor degree and/or equivalent accounting experience preferred
